Are there Facebook privacy controls for Smartphones?

In the Summer of 2010, Facebook revamped its privacy controls extending them to all browser-enabled mobile devices. To access these controls from a Smartphone, visit m.facebook.com/privacy, log into your account, then click on the “Change” link next to the words “Privacy Settings.”  From this page, you can choose if friends, friends of friends, or everyone can see content, customize certain settings, and access the site’s privacy guide.  The latest Facebook privacy controls offer the same controls as the desktop version of Facebook. This latest development may also lead to other social networking sites creating similar features; currently the large majority of online services have privacy controls available to mobile users.

Facebook currently has over 500 million users in countries all over the world. According to Facebook, 150 million of those users log in via mobile device. Facebook has made statements pressing the point that Facebook mobile is the future, so the number of mobile users is sure to rise.  With teens accessing Facebook via mobile devices in many locations and at any point during the day, securing their personal information is paramount.  Parents should talk to their children and make sure they understand that all the risks associated with social networks on a desktop also apply to mobile devices.
